This course examines the nature of accounting theory and practice, procedures, and preparation and interpretation of financial statements. The various uses of accounting information in decision-making, accounting issues concerning income and cash flows, economic resources and capital will be discussed. This course will give an in-depth understanding of the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) process. The M&A process involves several stages, from initial planning to post-merger integration. Students will learn about strategic planning, due diligence, valuation and negotiation of target companies, deal structuring, regulatory approval and post-merge integration. Each of these stages will be examined in detail so that the student can understand the entire process and how each stage will build to the next.

FINC627 Structuring and Leading Merger and Acquisition Deals
This graduate-level course is designed for professionals seeking to understand and execute mergers and acquisitions across industries. Students explore deal structuring in mergers and acquisitions, focusing on deal structure, transaction structure, and the financial implications, tax implications, and legal implications of each acquisition deal. Emphasis is placed on corporate finance, due diligence, and evaluating whether a stock purchase, asset sale, or other legal structures create the best deal structure for both the buyer and sellers in complex transactions.

FINC630 Debt Instruments and Markets
The graduate course, Debt Instruments and Markets, provides a detailed examination of debt securities and their trading markets. The course begins with an overview of various types of securities, emphasizing their unique cash flow patterns and risk profiles.
A central focus of the course is the study of the term structure of interest rates, covering spot, coupon, and forward yield curves. These concepts are explored in the context of traditional bond yield calculations and the relationship between price and yield.
This course also addresses risk management strategies for different notes, including floating and fixed-rate notes. This course will explain the use of Libor-based derivatives such as interest rate swaps and Eurodollar futures.
Another significant aspect of the course is the analysis of default risk and its impact on bond valuation, including examining credit derivatives for managing default risk.
Furthermore, students will comprehensively understand Treasury futures and options, exploring their complexities and applications in financial markets.

The course covers various aspects of Finance, such as mergers and acquisitions, including strategic alignment of merging entities, target company valuation, negotiation processes, and post-merger integration. INTL509 Intelligence Collection
This course is a study of intelligence collection and information gathering, emphasizing how the United States and foreign nations gather and process intelligence. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the role that intelligence collection plays in the broader intelligence community, how policies influence collection activities, and how different intelligence agencies monitor and collect information. The course explores major collection disciplines used across the national intelligence cycle, including human intelligence, signals intelligence, imagery intelligence, and open source intelligence, helping students understand how these capabilities support analysis and inform national decision-making.
INTL607 Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
This course provides an intensive introduction to open source intelligence and its related disciplines. Students will examine the definition, nature, and development of open source intelligence (OSINT), including its policy considerations, management practices, and current trends within the intelligence community. Emphasis is placed on understanding how publicly available data and data collection methods contribute to producing actionable intelligence that supports national security objectives. The course also surveys OSINT-focused organizations, challenges, reform efforts, and future prospects, preparing students to evaluate information collected from diverse sources and apply foundational OSINT techniques in professional intelligence environments.

Master of Science in Coaching and Athletic Development
The Master of Science (MS) in Coaching and Athletic Development program is a combination of the study of sport and exercise science, sports business management, and athletic coaching. This degree program helps provide students with the knowledge to train and develop athletes for sport competition and lifetime sport involvement by applying methods of exercise programming, coaching pedagogy, and financial and business principles to sport. The concepts of developing athletes for optimal performance through sport-specific training techniques and strategies will be explored. Students will acquire the skills often necessary to train athletes in both small and large group settings and implement business principles for owning and managing sport-specific training facilities and businesses.

The General Concentration will give students a deep understanding of financial systems and practices including capital investments, risk, derivatives, investments, and insurance. Those who select the M.S. general concentration will find themselves prepared for a management role in corporate finance. The MS General concentration will also prepare the student for international finance and working with foreign currencies. It will also cover alternative currencies such as Bitcoin. This concentration will focus on how corporations utilize the financial markets for funding projects, capital improvements, and acquisitions.

PSYC697 Thesis Preparation
This course is the first in a two-course sequence for students to complete a thesis as the capstone for their master’s degree in psychology. This course will help students understand the process of developing and writing a thesis in psychology, including the creation of a research prospectus demonstrating their plan for conducting their study. Students will leave the course with a fully developed prospectus for their thesis project.
This course may not be taken until the student has completed at least 85% of their program and is in their last term before enrolling in the PSYC698 Master’s Thesis course.

PSYC698 Master’s Thesis in Psychology
This course is the second of a two-course capstone thesis project for a master’s degree in psychology. Students enter the course with a completed prospectus, and, after verification of Institutional Review Board (IRB) exemption or IRB approval, students will complete their literature review, data collection and appropriate statistical analyses, a summary of results, and a discussion of findings, implications, and limitations. This course is completed after all other coursework in the program is finished, including PSYC697 Thesis Preparation.
